Mickie Sage has a lifetime of experience and a trail of success with hunters, jumpers, equitation, and ponies. She grew up on a thoroughbred-breeding farm in New Hope, Pennsylvania and, since she was nine years old, was a catch rider for many professionals on the East Coast as a junior rider. After 18 years gaining experience in the junior ranks, Mickie decided to take her passion and experience to the next level, becoming a professional rider and trainer. In 1998, after years of being trained and mentored by some of the best in the equestrian business, Mickie Sage Incorporated was born.
Over the years, her organization has shown horses and coached students at some of the most prestigious horse shows and winter circuits in the country, including the FEI World Cup Qualifiers, WEF, HITS Thermal, HITS Arizona, and HITS Ocala. She has qualified horses and riders for Devon, the Pennsylvania National, the Washington International, USEF Pony Finals, USEF Medal Finals, USET Finals, Young Jumper Finals, USHJA International Derby Finals, and the ASPCA Maclay Finals. As well as qualifying these horses and riders and competing at these shows, she herself has trained and ridden alongside many World Champion hunter riders, National, Zone and State Champions in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California and Colorado.
Mickie is a USHJA Certified Trainer with a B.A degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Mickie was also part of the IHSA Nation Finals Equestrian team for Bucks County Community College in Newtown, PA in 1991 and 1992.
